Improvements

We've made some major improvements to the house over the past few years that we've lived here. Some of the highlights are:

• brand new, large island
• new cabinetry
• new Corian countertops
• new appliances by popular brands
• gas line into kitchen for new gas stove/oven

• new patio provides shaded area for relaxing, barbecues, etc.
• patio was professionally installed with classic brick pattern
• brick pattern matches kitchen floor tiles
• new steps lead from house to patio at french doors
• new steps lead from house to patio at back hallway

• professional landscapers improved the look of the large back yard
• they also put in some decent shrubbery around the front yard (although we've allowed weeds to take over the front lawn)

The house originally had a full-fledged widow's walk on the roof. We restored access to the widow's walk through the finished attic room. A custom-designed, professionally crafted Lexan skylight hatch covers the opening on the roof, allowing sunlight into the attic space, which we use as our master bedroom. The opening will look great and function well with a little additional modification. Presently, it is usable for the occassional trip up the roof to watch fireworks going off downtown, or just to look across the neighborhood, all the way to Shands Hospital and beyond.
