$249,900 Queen Anne Victorian home for sale in Jacksonville's historic Springfield district |
![]() We're selling our house (see photos here), and we've just lowered the price, so we can sell it fast. Why? Because we've already moved to Philadelphia and we couldn't take the house with us. So, everything must go, including the new Corian kitchen sink and huge Corian-topped kitchen island. We'll even throw in the 200-foot-long, completely fenced yard at no extra cost. Act now, and you'll even get the built-in charm of a hundred-year-old Queen Anne style Victorian treasure. Did we mention the rooftop widow's walk, with gorgeous views of downtown fireworks? How about the beautifully finished former-attic space? It makes a great third-story bedroom, game room, or office. Heck, the third floor is big enough to be all of those at once. You can view several photos of the house. All of this could be yours for the low, low price of $249,900! Mention this web site and we'll slash $500 off the price at the outset! (Seriously.) But, that's not all! You'll also receive this beautiful, custom-designed website, to show off your new home to all your friends and family. (Seriously, you can have this WestNinth.com website too.) Get it now. At this price, it will only last until it's sold. All humor aside... We really do need to sell this beautiful house. And, we are certainly willing to negotiate to ensure a quick, fair sale. Law school beckons and we think you're going to love the hardwood floors, the new stainless steel kitchen appliances, the front porch, the back patio, the long back yard with privacy fencing, and the incredible community of home owners in Springfield. |

Our home is ideally located within a short walk of Shands Hospital or Main Street (and the nice Henrietta's restaurant). Plus, two exciting developments are going to flank our block in the near future. One will be at the intersection of 8th Street and Pearl Street, while the other will be at 8th Street and Silver Street. Eighth and Pearl Project Details These two projects are on the southeast and southwest corners of our block. Our house is on the north side of the block, on 9th Street, near Pearl Street. |

Is Springfield as good an investment as everyone says? |
|
Yes! Many investors consider Jacksonville's historic district of Springfield to be the very best investment opportunity in the nation. In most parts of the country, home prices increased at crazy rates over the past several years because of low interest rates and other external factors. But, in Springfield, the increase in home values has been largely due to the drastic improvements in the neighborhood. The city of Jacksonville has invested huge amounts of money in improving the roads and infrastructure, while renovators have drastically enlivened the appearance of the neighborhood. So, because the home values are tied to substantial, tangible improvements, there is much less market volatility in Springfield. Springfield is a great place to find remarkable homes at relatively low prices (like ours, for example). Check out the "Neighborhood" section of this very website for more details, or just take our word for it. |

What's the neighborhood like? |
|
Our block has been wonderfully safe and comfortable during our three years here. We found a helpful and supportive community and have never had any problems. We once left the side door of our minivan completely open for several hours, in the dark of night, and nobody took anything from the vehicle. A neighbor across the street even called the police to ask them to check out the situation and make sure everything was okay. Two police officers came to our door and asked if we knew that door was open. It was pretty embarassing, but also strangely reassuring. You'd think we'd learn our lesson from that experience. Nope. In the following years, there were several times when we left vehicle doors unlocked for an entire night. Once, we left one unlocked for several days, while we were out of town on vacation. And, there have been a couple nights when we accidentally left the house keys in the front door after bringing in groceries. With all our carelessness and stupidity, you'd think something would get stolen. But, that never happened. Now, maybe there are still some corners of Springfield where things aren't so rosy, but our little section seems just fine to us. We think you'll agree. So, buy our house already! |
